The Gringley on the Hill Community Centre

CORONAVIRUS Community Volunteer Control Centre 20-03-20

The community centre has become the Control Centre for the Community Volunteers headed out by Melissa Sherwin Gill. The volunteers are preparing to help villagers who may require assistance during these difficult times. Special control measures have been put in place with regard to the Coronavirus and therefor access will be restricted to nominated volunteers.  There has been a deep clean of specific areas prior to making the community centre available to the volunteers. The following attachments are the controls and procedures we have put in place to help protect the vounteers.

CORONAVIRUS - Closure of Community Centre 16-03-20

These are unprecedented times with the onset of the Covid 19 virus, more commonly known as the Corona virus.

Being responsible for the Community Centre means that we have a duty of care to our users, and in light of the Government announcement at 17:00 today, the Management Committee have decided that all bookings as from midnight tonight (Monday 16th March) are cancelled, on the grounds that we cannot ensure that any user entering/using the facility are free from the virus and an adequate cleaning regime cannot be maintained between bookings.

The facility will remain closed for an indefinite period of time.

Where single bookings that have been made during the closure we will offer a full refund.

Where payments have been made for regular or long term bookings we will issue a credit note for the use of the facility on a date when it is available.

We sincerely hope that this decision is understood by all and is taken with the advice that is coming from Government.

We will notify you when the Community Centre is able to be opened and ready to welcome both you and your users.
